Cascade Country Cook-off

- “Get Your Grill On” at The Cascade Country Cook-off on July 16 & 17! Set in Chehalis’ picturesque Stan Hedwall Park, this annual PNWBA-sanctioned competition highlights top BBQ pros from the region and around the country. If you love barbecue you’ll love the food samples, barbecue demonstrations, interactive displays and at this sizzling summer festival. Watch the region’s best barbecue teams battle for over $5,000 in cash and prizes.

On Saturday, barbecue masters warm up by taking on the non-traditional dishes of chili and desserts.  Then on Sunday, the barbecue teams get serious and fire up the smokers to win a chance to compete at the Jack Daniel’s National BBQ Competition. You won’t want to miss sampling these succulent morsels, and you’ll thrill to the excitement of the awards presentation with trophies, ribbons and cash prizes.

You can learn the secrets of barbecue too! Register for the 12-hour, hands-on class to learn how to slow-smoke barbecue from a PNWBA Pro, take a class to learn how to be a Barbecue Competition Judge or settle the squabble with your buddies once and for all by entering the “Best Barbecue Burger Battle” and compete in “Beef” and “Anything BUT Beef” categories for bragging rights to the Best Burger in the region.

The Cascade Country Cook-off features live entertainment, a refreshing beer garden, vendor booths and loads of fun. Food vendors will be serving their incredible offerings starting at noon and the beer garden will be serving cold beverages to wash it down from noon to 8:00 pm, Saturday and noon to 5pm, Sunday. And, as if all that wasn’t enough, stroll through memory lane at the Chehalis Classic Car Show!

Acres of smokin’ hot customs and painstakingly restored vehicles will be on display for the two-day event.  Classics! Pickups! Rods! Oh, my! Even vehicles in progress and vintage commercial vehicles will be on display. Two-wheel your favorite? No problem. Vintage and custom motorcycles are invited as well. Trophies will be awarded in each of the 20 categories. Can you pick the winner?
