The annual Chamber Scholars Luncheon will take place on May 14, 2007. This event honors and recognizes the top 25 students from Centralia High School and W.F. West. This year’s luncheon will feature Michael McLean as the guest speaker.

This is an excellent opportunity for the business community to express recognition to these outstanding scholars and provide a glimpse of who we are as a Chamber. Many Chamber member businesses have graciously volunteered to sponsor one or more of these students; this includes buying the student’s lunch and being seated with them during the program.

The top 25 students from Centralia High school are: Charles Albright, Abby Anderson, Jennifer Aust, Alison Burchett, Crystal Creel, Jacob Ehlers-Uber, Lisa Grim, Mikaela Gronseth, Josh Kaiser, Alicia Lynch, Zachary Lyons, Shay McElvain, Daniel (D.J.) McMahon, Sean Meehan, Alex Parke-Fagerness, Rosalyn Pelzel, Betsy Ann Penman, Malorie Redmon, Cramer Sande, Michael Schultz, Jenna Shriver, Shelbi Simmons, Jordan Stray, Michael Warren, and Sydney Winebrenner.

W.F. West top 25 students are: Geah Betts, Andrea Boucher, John Capen, Andrew Cole, Hillary Fazzari, Megan Filer, Cassie Hoisington, Tristan Hurd, Rebekah Joachim, Kamran Khan, Lindsey Miller, Dale Morrison, Emily Newgard, Scott Ray, Amanda Rich , Gbenie Rinta, Andy Skinner, Cody Smith, Jill Sukraw, Rebekah Tjostolvson, Andrea Venegas, Kathlyn Wachter, Emily Weeks, Stephanie White, and Tyler Young

Join us on May 14 for an exciting program with Michael McLean. He is a songwriter, composer, author, performer, playwright, film producer, and director who has more than 20 years experience making music, more than 25 albums recorded and more than one million tapes and CDs sold.

With a background in film, McLean began early in his career making commercials for radio and television. He has received numerous national and international awards for advertising.  Such awards include the prestigious Clio Award, National Addy Award, New York Ad Club’s Andy Award, two National Emmy Finalists Awards, and the Bronze Lion at the Cannes Film Festival.  McLean used his film experience to produce and direct several films including Nora’s Christmas Gift, Together Forever, and Mr. Krueger’s Christmas starring film legend Jimmy Stewart.

All of this will make for an exciting presentation as McLean honors our top scholars from Centralia and W.F. West High Schools with jingles on a baby grand piano. The Scholars Luncheon will be held at The Aerie Ballroom, 219 S. Tower, Centralia from 11:30 to 1:00 pm.
