City of Chehalis Community Blood Drive

Dear Loyal Donor,

The City of Chehalis in partnership with the Puget Sound Blood Center will be hosting another blood drive this Friday, August 13th from 10:00am- 4:00pm (closed for lunch from 12:00pm ? 1:30pm). The blood drive will be inside the V.R. Lee Community building located at 221 SW 13th in Chehalis. Will you be someone?s life-saving hero and donate? You can make an appointment by contacting Yvette at 360-567-4810, we have plenty of time slots left to fill. We have a goal of 22 donors, please help us be successful!! You can also come by as a walk-in donor if that works better.

Each unit of blood collected at our drive can benefit up to 3 patients in area hospitals. Your blood donations benefit patients who have suffered serious injuries and burns, need transfusions during surgeries and have life-threatening chronic diseases like leukemia and cancer that require frequent transfusions.

Patients in our community NEED you! The hospitals we serve typically require more blood products in the Summer time, yet receive fewer donations. As of today we are very low on several different blood types, see chart below

All blood types are needed every day!!


Blood donation is literally lifesaving. In fact, about 80% of the population will require a blood transfusion at some point in their lives ? but only about 6% of the eligible population donates ? this makes you a very rare and dedicated person! When the need for blood occurs, the blood will be there for patients thanks to people such as yourselves who rolled up their sleeves to donate blood.
