Comedy Show starring Peggy Platt
DV AWARENESS MONTH "Kickoff & Comedy Show " October 1, 2007. You are invited to a very fun and meaningful evening filled with laughter and hope! Past winner of the Seattle Laugh-Off, Peggy Platt will be performing on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Centralia College. Peggy is a champion of social change. She has used her humor to challenge audiences to think about life, and social justice in a new and undeniably funny way. Peggy will be performing as part of the Human Response Network Domestic Violence Awareness Month kickoff. The kickoff begins at 7 pm with remarks by our honored guest, Senator Swecker followed by a dessert buffet and comedy show! No ticket required; just donate $5 - $20 (whatever you can afford) at the door. If you plan on attending this fun evening please RSVP with Human Response Network at 360-748-6601 for more info. Following the awareness program we will be serving a variety of desserts donated by local bakers and artisans. After dessert, the crowd will be treated to the humor of Peggy Platt. Peggy is a past winner of the Seattle Laugh-Off, and has appeared for the past 25 years touring the northwest, California and Canada, including Seattle ’s Giggles and the Comedy Underground. Peggy was voted the northwest’s Best Comic nine times by the Seattle Weekly’s "Best of the Northwest" Issue. She has appeared on Showtime’s "Laugh Break" and opened for Cyndi Lauper, Jay Leno, Randy Newman, Jerry Seinfeld and Puppetry of the Penis. She is one-half of the comedy team Dos Fallopia with Lisa Koch, and their annual show "Ham for the Holidays" is a Seattle seasonal staple. Peggy has also appeared at Fifth Avenue, ACT, Empty Space, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Crepe de Paris, Alice B. Theatre and Civic Light Opera.
