The Centralia College Choir is presenting a musical concert of seasonal favorites free of charge at the Harrison Square Presbyterian Church in Centralia.
The program will include traditional carols, such as, “Here We Come A-Wassailing”,
“Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”, “Silent Night”, “Tannenbaum”, “Carol of the Bells”, “Jingle Bells”, “Ding Dong! Merrily On High”, "Jingle Bells", and “Masters in This Hall”. The choir will also be performing Keith Christopher’s arrangement of “O Holy Night” combined with “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” in the piano accompaniment. And the choir will sing an arrangement of “The Little Drummer Boy” combined with “Peace on Earth” (by Alan Kohan, Larry Grossman, and Ian Fraser). The choir will also perform “There is Faint Music” by Nancy Buckley and Dan Forrest.
A women’s ensemble will sing “Shepherds and the Star” based on a Syrian carol arranged for women’s voices by Catherine Bennett. Ms. Bennett teaches at Marshall Middle School in Olympia and has accompanied the Olympia Choral Society (conducted by Centralia College alumnus, Terrance Robert Bernard Shaw). The men’s ensemble will be singing “We Three Kings of Orient Are” and two French carols.
A free will offering will be collected and all donations will be given to the Lewis County Food Bank
