Japanese Internment Remembrance Day

On February 19, 1942, President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, authorizing internment of more than 100,000 American citizens of Japanese ancestry, and resident aliens from Japan. Join us on Saturday, June 3, from 10am - 2pm for a tribute to our friends and neighbors who boarded a U.S. Army train at the Chehalis Depot 75 years ago, for their final destination at a War Relocation Authority camp at Tule Lake, California. We will highlight the families who were affected, their accomplishments, and impacts on our community. Program begins promptly at 11:00 am. - Family Histories - Dedication of Plaque - Reading of Names - Remembrance Display Visit our website at http://www.lewiscountymuseum.org
