The Centralia Downtown Association is excited to announce the Second Annual Jazzartique Festival, July 28 & 29, 2012, once again in our historic downtown. This exciting venue located in Historic Downtown Centralia will again feature an outdoor jazz stage, a guest performer at the Historic Fox theatre, an art fair, Centralia’s renowned antique shops, and local food. The Festival hours will be 10–6 on Saturday and 11–4 on Sunday.

JAZZ, ART, ANTIQUES

The Jazzartique event will have jazz performances at an outdoor stage at Maple and Pearl Streets both Saturday and Sunday featuring up and coming and established jazz musicians. Also enjoy a taste of Lewis County with special offerings of local food at one convenient location next to the entertainment and art vendors. Admission is free to the outdoor event.

At this same venue location we will have an outdoor art festival featuring local and regional artists and vendors. A nearby location will feature young budding artists, and a hands-on art project for kids of all ages to participate in a collaborative art installation. Local artists' work will also be featured in gallery spaces and stores throughout downtown. Hubbub will present a demonstration art event.

In the Historic Centralia downtown the abundant antique shops and businesses will feature artists throughout the participating locations a detailed map will guide you to the shops to view artists work and to browse the amazing selection of antiques and collectibles that Historic Centralia downtown has become to be known for. Among other features there will be glass blowing demonstrations and a gallery showing of Kim Talley, this years selected artist for the JazzArtique poster art.

Later Saturday night, July 28 at 8 pm, the Historic Fox Theatre will present a headline show featuring Stephanie Porter. Ticket outlets will be at Santa Lucia Coffee and Hubbub in Centralia, and Book and Brush in Chehalis. Stephanie Porter is a longtime favorite jazz artist performing in the Northwest jazz scene and working with over 50 groups as a freelance vocalist and performing in some of the top venues in the region including Jazz Alley, the Triple Door, Tula’s and El Gaucho’s Pampas Room. She is an outstanding jazz vocalist with a clear, sultry tone and a bright and appealing stage presence.
