Visiting Nurses Foundation to host event at Chehalis tree farm to raise money for home health and hospice services. CHEHALIS, WA - The holidays are all about tradition - about baking cookies, singing carols and hanging lights. And for some, the tradition is searching for and chopping down a Christmas Tree. This year, join the Visiting Nurses Foundation as we celebrate the joys of a traditional old-fashioned Christmas during the "Mistletoe Tree Farm Extravaganza" on Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29 and December 5 and 6. There are plenty of activities for the whole family. Both weekends the young and young at heart can enjoy snacking on old-fashioned peanuts, fresh-roasted over the wood fire. Kids can decorate sugar cookies. And all are invited to sip warm spiced cider or hot cocoa in the beautifully restored 13,000 square foot barn. Local artist Willy-Tee will be on hand to draw cartoons of your outing. And live old-fashioned music will be performed by local artists. Special activities are planned throughout the event as well. On Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm have a photo taken with Santa. On Saturday, December 5 and 6, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, ride the Holiday Hay wagon. Visiting Nurses Foundation will be raffling a Christmas tree designed by long-time Festival of Trees Designer, Jodi Baker, a wreath handmade and designed by Barbara Stidham of Northwest Christmas, and a U-cut tree donated by Mistletoe Tree Farm. Tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased at the Visiting Nurses Thrift Shop in Centralia or at the Mistletoe Tree Farm. You need not be present to win and drawing will be held December 13. While you're at the Thrift Shop purchasing your raffle ticket, be sure to browse the selection of gently used items. A $20 Thrift Shop purchase will qualify you for a $2 off coupon for your tree at Mistletoe Tree Farm!
