Renowned Electric Violinist, Geoffrey Castle Comes to Centralia for Student Workshop & Benefit Concert with local Fiddling Favorites, The Voetberg Family Band Jupiter Arts Center & Gallery, a non-profit arts organization located on N. Tower Avenue in Historic Downtown Centralia is sponsoring two Geoffrey Castle Community Events. Violinist Geoffrey Castle will be in Centralia this weekend and next weekend for two amazing community events. This Saturday, September 19th, Castle will conduct a FREE Student Workshop called, "Making 21st Century Music in a Modern World" for students ages 12 and up in anticipation of his concert the following weekend. This event will be held at the FOX Theater in Historic Downtown Centralia from 3-5pm, doors open at 2:30pm. Castle will educate and delight with a live demonstration of his unique electric violin techniques. Castle was a former teacher prior to becoming a professional musician and touring world wide with his solo career & band affiliations. Chaperons will be provided and all valid students age 12 and above are welcome. Following the student workshop, Geoffrey Castle will perform a sneak peek selection of his most popular favorites at the Jupiter Arts Center & Gallery reception being held from 6pm-8pm on Saturday, September 19th in celebration of ARTrails and in preparation of his live concert the following weekend at Corbet Theater. Castle is returning to Centralia to headline the Jupiter Arts Center Benefit Concert on September 26th at the Corbet Theater venue at Centralia College. Opening for Castle will be local fiddling favorites, The Voetberg Family Band. Tickets are currently on sale for the benefit concert at Jupiter Arts Center on N. Tower, Cuppa Joe Coffee on Mellen Street, Book-N-Brush in Chehalis and Christella's Closet in downtown Centralia. Tickets are also on sale online through Brown Paper Tickets, Event #73454. Adults $25, students with valid I.D. and seniors 60 and over $20 and children 8-12 are $12. Doors will open at 6:30pm and the performance will start promptly at 7pm. Tickets will also be available for purchase during the student workshop demonstration at the Historic FOX Theater on Saturday. Jupiter Arts Center opened its doors at the beginning of summer and is currently featuring the gallery's third exhibition, an exceptional display of the work of 13 Portland Area Photographers in the "Portland Photography Show." The Castle & Voetberg concert will benefit the non-profit arts center's Arts After School Program creation and future exhibitions.
